Xiaomi Redmi Note 7S with 48 MP dual camera gets official price

A new smartphone has been launched by Xiaomi India, and it is known as the Redmi Note 7S. The phone is a result of Xiaomi’s desire to introduce a 48 MP photography experience with much less cost. As such, even though the Redmi Note 7S comes with a 48 MP dual rear camera, it costs just Rs. 10,999 (~$158). The phone also comes with some nice features which we’ll get to in a minute.

The phone comes with a 6.3-inch IPS LCD which has a dot notch. The display supports full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels and is covered with Gorilla Glass 5 panels.

Under the hood, the phone has a Snapdragon 660 processor, supported with 3 GB/4 GB of RAM + 32 GB/64 GB of storage depending on the model. The phone also has a microSD slot which can be used to expand storage space. The phone also comes with MIUI 10 customized Android 9 Pie out of the box. It also packs a 4000 mAh battery which comes with 18W charging support through a bundled charger.

On the rear of the phone is a dual camera setup which includes a 48 MP Samsung GM1 camera with f/1.8 aperture and a 5 MP depth sensor. The rear setup comes with many features to enhance users’ photography experience such as PDAF, Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS), AI Portrait mode, and LED flash. The phone also has amazing low-light shooting abilities. On the front is a 13 MP selfie shooter.

A fingerprint sensor and AI face unlock will help prevent unauthorized access to your device. The Note 7S also comes with many other features such as dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, v5.0 Bluetooth, GPS, USB-C, and 3.5mm audio jack.

The phone comes in two variants- 3 GB RAM + 32 GB ROM/4 GB RAM + 64 GB ROM and the cost Rs. 10,999 (~$158) and Rs. 12,999 (~$187) respectively. It is expected to hit the market on May 23. It can be purchased via various channels such as Mi.com, Mi Store app, and Flipkart.
