ZTE announces Ni Fei as President of ZTE Mobile Devices

Ni Fei has been appointed by ZTE Corporation as its new President of Mobile Devices. Ni Fei, who is the Co-founder and President of Nubia Technology, will keep his previous position while serving in the new one as well. Xu Feng, who used to occupy the position will now serve only as Senior Vice President (SVP) of ZTE.

Ni Fei joined the company back in 2001. He later worked in the company’s consumer product operation between 2004 and 2012. It was during this time he established Nubia which was initially a wholly-owned subsidiary of ZTE. Nubia later split off from ZTE in 2015 and has since been an independent brand. Ni Fei has served as the General Manager of Nubia since 2012 when it was first founded. In May last year, Ni Fei became the President of the company.

It was during Ni Fei’s time as VP of Nubia that the company launched the Nubia Z5 which became the first Chinese smartphone to support all the network bands.
