The ZTE has been launched and released into the market as far back as June 2017. It is actually funny how ZTE decided to release the smaller version of this device, the ZTE Nubia Z17 Mini (released April 2017) before unveiling the main or original version. It kind of defies logic, but in my opinion, it is actually unique… and fun. Leaves users guessing and raises the level of anticipation.

Let’s see what the ZTE Nubia Z17 looks like.
DESIGN & DISPLAY
Design-wise, a couple of changes have been made compared to the Nubia Z17 Mini. The positions of the rear LED flash, front camera and proximity sensor have been modified. The home button and fingerprint scanner still retain their position.
The ZTE Nubia Z17 has a bigger 5.5 inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and high display density of 403 pixels per inch. The display is somewhat a full view screen as the Nubia Z17 boasts of a very tiny and negligible side bezel. Being an expensive device with a fragile screen, the display is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass. This will prevent easy shattering of the screen when it falls against hard surfaces.
The Nubia Z17 is pretty slim and at the top, the 3.5mm earphone jack are located and at the bottom, the USB Type C port and the speaker grills.
PROCESSOR, OS & STORAGE
The ZTE Nubia Z17 uses the same chiset (Qualcomm MSM8998 Snapdragon 835) as the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, runs on the same 2.35 GHz Octa-core Kyro processor as the Note 8, and also, runs on the same Android v7.1.1 operating system as the Note 8. This is yet another worthy competitor to the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 flagship.
The Nubia Z17 comes in two storage variants, the one with 6 GB RAM & 64 GB internal memory and an 8 GB RAM variant accompanied by 128 GB of built-in storage. Both variants do not have a micro SD card slot.
CAMERA
The ZTE Nubia Z17 comes with two cameras; the main shooter is 23 MP lens, while the other is a 12 MP lens improved image focus and image quality. The dual camera is flanked to the left by a dual-LED dual tone flash.
At the front, a single 16 megapixels lensis embedded for high quality selfies. Sadly, the device doesn’t come with a LED flash support for thr front camera.
BATTERY
As it is with most high-end premium devices, they often always have battery capacity that doesn’t equal their features and capabilities. The ZTE Nubia Z17 comes with a non-removable 3,200 Lithium Polymer battery.
The good part to this however is that the Nubia Z17 comes with the latest Quick charge version 4.0 which takes the battery from 0% to 50% in 25 minutes. Half battery charge in less than half an hour.
