Being a lower mid-range smartphone means you don’t get to have a sophisticated design. The Asus Zenfone Max Pro and Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro comes in a front glass, with a mixture of aluminum and plastic at their back. They both have a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. And have the dual rear camera setup at the top left in a vertical position. The LED flash of the Redmi Note 5 Pro is in between its rear cameras just like the iPhone X. While that of the Asus Zenfone, Max Pro is below the dual rear camera.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro weighs 181 grams, which is just one gram heavier than the Zenfone Max Pro (180 grams). The Asus Zenfone Max Pro comes bulky with an 8.5mm thickness, while the Redmi Note 5 Pro measures 8.1mm. Four body color options are available for the Redmi Note 5 Pro; Black, Champagne Gold, Rose Gold and Lake Blue. While you get just Black and Gray body colors for the Zenfone Max Pro.

There’s isn’t much difference in display between the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro and Asus Zenfone Max Pro. They both feature a 5.99 inch IPS LCD touchscreen with an FHD+ resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels. The Redmi Note 5 Pro comes with a 403 PPI density. While the Zenfone Max Pro has a 402 PPI density. The display of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro is protected by Corning Gorilla glass (unspecified version).

The Zenfone Max Pro runs on pure stock Android 8.1 Oreo, which means it will receive Google’s next two software; Android P and Q. Running on stock Android software means the smartphones will be free from bloatware.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro runs on MiUI 9.0 skin with Android 7.1.2 Nougat. The Redmi Note 5 Pro comes with an internal storage of 64GB and two variants of memory; 4GB and 6GB. While the Asus Zenfone comes in two variants of internal storage. The 32GB storage with 3GB memory and the 64GB storage with 4GB or 6GB memory.
