The Huawei MediaPad M5 Pro is a high-end tablet with a 10-inch display and it’s powered by Android 8.0 Oreo. The tablet features an M-Pen stylus, built-in LTE 4G, and an optional keyboard cover. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 share similar features with the Huawei MediaPad M5. So in this post, we will be comparing the Huawei MediaPad M5 Pro with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3.

The Huawei MediaPad M5 Pro is fully wrapped with an Aluminium Alloy and the Tablet features a 2.5D curved glass. Because of that, you can easily hold it comfortably. It measures 7.3 millimeters in thickness which show’s it’s quite thin.

On the top and bottom, you will get a sound bar that houses a speaker each respectively and those speakers sound great. The Tablet features two cameras with a resolution of 8 and 13 megapixels. It has a nanoSIM slot and also a slot for micro SD card that you can use to expand the memory.

On the bottom, it has a connector for an optional keyboard cover and a USB Type C Port. Huawei is including an adapter for the USB port.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 offers a pleasant design built with a quality material. The Tablet features a metal frame and the back is made of glass. On the back, the Tab is equipped with a fingerprint scanner reader, USB Type C port and even a standard 3.5-millimeter audio jack.

The Huawei MediaPad M5 Pro offers a large screen size of 10.8-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels. Just as you can see, the Tab features one of the highest resolutions out there.

To help you navigate the screen, the Tablet is shipped with a stylus M-Pen. The M-Pen stylus features the latest technical support. Just like the Samsung S-Pen, it has 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity. When you press the pen harder you will get a thicker line and by tilting the pen, you can draw light shading.

You can also use the Pen to take screenshots and annotate them. The Tablets is preloaded with some Apps. Some of the App include Nepo for Huawei note taking. This App also supports handwriting recognition and the handwriting recognition is built into the keyboard as well. In addition to this is AutoDesk Sketchbook drawing app and a handwriting calculator called MyScript Calculator.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 S-Pen is similar to that of Huawei. However, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 comes with more software supports. It has a display size of 9.7 inches with Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen and a screen resolution of 1536 x 2048 pixels.

On the inside, the Huawei MediaPad M5 Pro runs on HiSilicon Kirin 960 octa-core processor. The chipset is made up of four 2.4GHz and another four 1.8GHz cores. The specifications on the inside include 4GB of RAM and a 32GB, 64GB or 128GB internal storage. Though the Kirin 960 is not the latest chipset available, still it will perform faster than other tablets in this range.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S3, on the other hand, is equipped with a Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 820 processor. The tablet runs on Android 7.0 (Nougat), upgradable to Android 8.0 (Oreo). It has 4GB of RAM with 32GB of inbuilt storage.

As for the Huawei MediaPad M5 Pro, it runs on the latest Android 8.1 Prep out of the box with Huawei’s EMUI which is their own interface. The Android is highly customized. In fact, it has no app drawer out of the box.
