Pokémon Go is Giving Players Chance to See Inside Their Eggs

Pokémon Go Is Giving Players Chance To See Inside Their Eggs

Some countries are passing laws that limit or ban games that carry gambling-type of mechanisms, especially for players aged 18 and over. In some countries, the banning of loot boxes is common.

This may be the reason why Pokémon is giving some players a chance to peep inside the contents of their eggs, as such a move will help the company to avoid lawsuits or a ban in Europe or elsewhere.

A short tweet heralded this thus- “Trainers, we are excited to share that we’re starting testing where a limited number of Trainers will be able to see which Pokémon may hatch from Eggs in their Inventory.”

The tweet also helps gamers to understand that not everyone will be involved in the testing.

Pokémon Go has different types of eggs that can be hatched using an incubator after the player traverses on a certain distance. They function like loot boxes although there could be a broad clue about the eggs’ contents. Exposing the contents is a good step as a number of countries are moving toward discouraging minors from forming gambling addictions.

The company behind the game knows that, and since it has a great number of fans in the countries that frown upon minors addicting to gambling, the team is already making adjustments that will help it avoid lawsuits, partial, or total ban in some of those countries.

In 2020, there was a ban on loot boxes by a Dutch court, and it fined EA Sports more than eleven million dollars in a case over FIFA Ultimate Team Packs.

It is Pokémon’s 25th anniversary. The company has come a long way and it is a success in the world of gaming. The celebrations also saw new Nintendo Switch games announced.
