A Website Permission Is a Setting You Can Review

A website asks for notifications, location or microphone access. Clicking a button once can be easy to forget. If the site’s behaviour later surprises you, inspect the permission involved rather than changing every browser setting.

Identify the site and feature

Record the exact site and the capability you want to review. A notification permission differs from a microphone permission, and neither is the same as accepting a site’s account terms.

For Firefox, Mozilla documents the Site Permissions panel. Its icon appears when relevant permissions have been changed from defaults; the available controls depend on the site and current settings.

Change one relevant setting

Follow the instructions for your browser version and platform. Review the displayed site carefully before altering a permission. On a managed device, some settings may be controlled by the organisation.

After the change, revisit the feature and note what happens. A browser permission is only one part of the chain; an operating-system setting or site account preference may also be involved.

Keep the reason clear

Write whether you intended to block, allow or return to asking. This makes later troubleshooting easier than remembering only that you changed privacy settings.

Our problem-report guide can help describe the result without exposing private account details.
