Xiaomi assured the arrival of an MIUI 10 update for Redmi 6 series phones. All three variants – Redmi 6, Redmi 6A and Redmi 6 Pro – had arrived with MIUI 9.6 based on Android 8.1 Oreo. Yesterday, the Chinese manufacturer announced that it will soon be issued an update with MIUI 10.
The latest developments come after Xiaomi has started the launch of the first stable version of MIUI 10 in China. After almost three months since its launch in beta, MIUI 10 has arrived in a stable version on the Mi 6.
In a post on Twitter, Redmi India announced that Redmi 6, Redmi 6A and Redmi 6 Pro will be added to the list of smartphones in India that will receive the MIUI 10 update, which will still be based on Android 8.1 Oreo. However, as mentioned earlier, there is no exact date for the implementation of the update. In addition, Xiaomi did not reveal any details about a possible update to Android 9 Pie, the latest version of the green robot released last month.
Meanwhile, Xiaomi has shown a preview of the update MIUI 10 Global Beta 8.9.6, adding that it will start to be launched on compatible smartphones already this week. This is practically the next update to the one concerning the MIUI 10 Global Beta 8.8.30 that the company had recently started distributing on 25 smartphones. The new ROM version comes with some bug fixes – in particular, the update allows the resolution of some problems concerning notifications, the translation of texts, the Panorama mode, the camera and the app icons in the notification panel. Xiaomi provided the complete changelog in the forum post.
Users who have suitable Xiaomi devices running the latest global MIUI 9 beta ROM and registered with the global beta program can check for the new ROM version by selecting Settings> About phone> System updates> Check for updates. You can also download everything using the Updater app if you are already using the global MIUI 9 beta ROM.
