The Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite is now officially available on shopping stores ahead of its official launch date. The device is just a rebranded Redmi 6 Pro targeting the global market. It’s already available on AliExpress in two storage variants.
Of course it comes with a Notch, just like the Redmi 6 Pro and looks quite identical to the latest addition to the Redmi series. You also get two cameras at the rear to play with in terms of photography. Lets find out more.
Design
The Mi A2 Lite looks exactly like the Redmi 6 Pro even though it’s meant to be the downgraded variant of the Mi A2 smartphone. Nonetheless, it has a Plastic body with dual antenna lines to beautify the rear. There’s also a fingerprint scanner for quick access to the device.
While the iPhone X-like dual shooters take its rightful position at the top left corner. Turning to the sides, it measures 8.8mm in thickness and weighs 178g overall. It’s available in Black, Blue, Gold, Rose Gold and Red colors.
Display
There is a notch on top of the screen, this is super minimal compared to the long notch we saw on the Mi 8 flagships. It sports a 5.84-inch FHD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen. While the bottom chin came out to play as well.
Details on the screen should be clear enough. It has a resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels and 432 pixel per inch density. The screen stretches all the way to 79.5% screen-to-body ratio and dishes out an 19:9 aspect ratio as well.
Hardware and Software
The Snapdragon 625 chip runs the race here, it was built on a 14nm process technology. There’s an octa-core processor which clocks at 2.0GHz. While the Adreno 506 graphics processor handles graphics.
There’s 4GB of RAM space available for multitasking. This variant comes with either 32GB storage or 64GB storage space. Although, there’s a cheaper variant with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage space. The Mi A2 Lite runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with MIUI 9.0.
Camera
It sports dual AI-powered 12MP + 5MP rear shooters. The main 12MP sensor has f/2.2 aperture, 1.25 μm pixel size and PDAF. While the 5MP selfie camera has f/2.2 aperture, 1.12 μm pixel size and acts like the depth sensor.
There’s gyro-EIS, LED flash, touch focus, face/smile detection, HDR and panorama. It shoots 1080p videos @30fps, while the 5MP selfie camera shoots 1080p and HDR selfies as well.
Battery
Powering the Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite is a 4000mAh non-removable Li-Po battery with fast charging technology. With the fast charging feature, charging the battery from 0% to 100% shouldn’t take up to 1.9 hours.
