The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 is a budget Android Smartphone that offers specs beyond its price range. Build and Screen
Size wise, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 has a body dimension that measures at 152mm x 76mm x 8.25mm and weighs only 160gram. Xiaomi will be offering 5 colour options of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 which include white, blue, yellow, pink and mint green.
Redmi Note 2 sports a 5.5-inch 1080p Full HD display which puts it in the phablet range along a 1920 x 1080 resolution for a pixel density of 401 ppi which should make for decently enjoyable viewing and should offer some level of wide-angle viewing.
Its display is designed to protect the eyesight of those who like to play with their phones late at night and also features HDR sunlight technology as the Xiaomi Mi4i to improve viewing in direct sunlight.
Camera
Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 comes with a decent 13 megapixel Samsung/OV rear camera for a budget phablet and also comes with F2.2 aperture, dual LED flash, phase detection autofocus, 0.1s focus speed, touch to focus, High Dynamic Range (HDR) mode, amongst other features and modes.
The shooter has Full-HD (1080p) video recording capability. Its 5 megapixel front-facing snapper is made by OmniVision, and has the awesome automatic beautify function as well. It is capable of delivering selfies of great quality.
Performance and Software
A robust 64-bit MediaTek Helio X10 (A53 architecture) Octa-Core processor runs the show on Xiaomi Redmi Note 2. The 64-bit processor clocked up to 2.2GHz. It is assisted by ample RAM of 2GB capacity while the graphics is handled by a PowerVR G6200.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 is powered by Android 5.0 (Lollipop) OS which is coated with latest Xiaomi’s MIUI 7 user interface. It sports an ample storage of 16GB/32GB which enable users to add more storage memory. It has no space for additional memory.

Supplying needed juice to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 is a powerful 3060mAh battery, which is rated to offer up to 46 hours of music playback. Impressively, the phone supports 4G LTE connectivity (Band 3 and Band 40) to allow you enjoy super-fast mobile data speeds. It also supports dual-SIM functionality. Xiaomi have also included an IR remote control use at home with your TV, air conditioner etc.
Pricing and availability
Xiaomi currently does not sell mobile phones in Nigeria. According to Xiaomi, the focus of their expansion for 2015 will be India, Brazil, and Indonesia. However, the company is expected to be global by 2020.
So, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 may never officially sell in Nigeria. We currently have no data on pricing and availability. If available, Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Price in Nigeria is expected to range from N40,000 – N45,000.
