The design of the Xiaomi Mi 6X and Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro are quite similar. Their front is quite big and bezel-less, while at the back is a dual camera setup in a vertical position just like the iPhone X. They both feature the normal front glass with an aluminum unibody. The Xiaomi Mi 6X measures 7.3 mm thickness and weighs 168 grams. The smartphone will feel light in the hand compared to the Redmi Note 5 Pro, which measures 8.1 mm thick and weighs 181 grams.

The fingerprint sensor is positioned at the back on both devices. The Xiaomi Mi 6X comes in five color options; Cherry Pink, Flame Red, Sand Gold, Glacier Blue and Black. The Xiaomi Mi 6X is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset, which carries 4-cores clocking at 2.2GHz and 4-cores clocking at 1.8GHz. While the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset powers the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro and carries 8-cores reaching a speed of 1.8GHz. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chip is an upgrade to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chip.
The Xiaomi Mi 6X runs on MiUI 9.5 skin with Android 8.1 Oreo. While the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro runs on MiUI 9.0 skin with Android 7.1.2 Nougat out of the box.
