THE DESIGN
Acer tried with the design of this tablet but it doesn’t look too expensive on the front side. Who cares about looks anyways? From the back, the textured, metal-like back makes for an easy grip and a sleek look. On the top left corner, in portrait mode you will find the 5-megapixel camera, just above the power button and volume rocker on the left side. On the right edge is a microSD card slot for up to 128GB of extra storage, which will come in handy in adding to the 16GB of built-in memory.
On the front side of the Acer Iconia Tab is an 8-inch display which is colorful, but not very bright.
GENERAL PERFORMANCE
First, the fact that the Acer Iconia Tab 8 runs on the latest Android 5.0 should give you an idea of its interface. That aside, The Acer Iconia Tab 8 is powered by a quad-core 1.33 – GHz Intel Atom processor and 1GB of RAM, if you ask me to me Frank, the Iconia Tab 8 wasn’t too swift to beat my taste for speed. For example, switching from landscape to portrait mode took more than a second, as did returning to the home screen.
