The Nokia 7 Plus has officially been announced by the tech giant with the final look of the device available for the world to see. The device is expected to make its official debut at the 2018 Mobile World Congress later this month in Barcelona.

The Plus version of the Nokia 7 is of course the upgraded version of last year’s device. It comes with dual rear camera, bigger display screen and a much powerful battery among other features. Want to know more about the Nokia 7 Plus? Stay with me.

Design

Nokia 7 Plus

Just like its predecessor, the Nokia 7 Plus was made from Aluminum Alloy, sporting a sleek unibody. Protecting the back is a Corning Gorilla Glass, you might want to get a case to avoid getting a cracked glass back. I love the gold touches at the back, to make the phone look premium. The Nokia logo was engraved in Gold and reflects light beautifully.

The dual rear camera sits vertically at the top with the dual-LED flash sitting right beside them. For quick access, the rear fingerprint scanner is under the dual shooters. Furthermore, it is IP54 certified offering only splash proof, so you can use the phone under a soft rain. It’s available in Black and White colors with a touch of gold.

I see a much bigger screen size with less bezels, this is definitely an upgrade. Looking at the top bezel which is now minimal, another Nokia logo sits at the top left with the selfie camera right beside it. The speaker grille and ambient light sensor are present as well.

The 6-inch FHD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen is crystal clear. It boasts of a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels for immersive clarity and stunning visuals. See your games and movies come alive on the screen as the pixel per inch density stands at 402. The bezel-less screen has an eye care mode and a Corning Gorilla Glass protecting it from scratches.

Hardware and Software

Under this beast is the Snapdragon 660 MSM8956 Plus chip from Qualcomm with 8-cores. The octa-core processor reaches a clock speed of 2.2 GHz and 64-bit CPU architecture. The graphics processor is a Qualcomm Adreno 512 processing unit, boasting of a 14nm process technology. Enjoy the Oreo experience, the Nokia 7 Plus runs on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.

In terms of RAM space, there are two versions of the device. There’s a standard version with 6GB RAM for smooth multitasking of heavy apps. Then there’s another version with 4GB RAM that’s less expensive, both versions have a memory speed of 1866MHz. Accommodating all your files, games and movies is a massive 64GB internal storage space. If you need more space you can easily upgrade up to 256GB, by inserting a memory card in the sim slot 2.

Camera

Double the fun with the dual rear 13MP + 12MP rear shooters that captures 4K resolution images in a click. Beside the camera is a dual-LED flash to help in dark places. Both camera boasts of so many features like phase detection, 2x optical zoom, Carl Zeiss optics, ultra clear image, professional mode among others. Take photographs with 4032 x 3024 pixels in dimension and record videos of 2160 pixels at 30 frames per second. The front facing camera is 16MP selfie shooter with f/2.0 for taking the best selfies.

Battery

Powering the Nokia 7 Plus up is a 3800mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery with fast charging technology support.
