It was also revealed by HTC that additional headsets and platforms, including iOS and the VIVE Wave platform, will be usable with the film but on a later date. It also said that future updates will come with new 3D room-scale scenes to further immerse viewers in the PC-VR experience.

The movie, 7 miracles, is an immersive VR adaptation of the seven miracles of Jesus Christ which is based on the Gospel of John the beloved. The VR film now combines the combination of storytelling and the latest technology in virtual reality. With this, HTC Vive aims to connect the audience in a novel and stirring way.

According to Vice President & General Manager of Vive Studios, Chris Chin:

“This celebrated story has been retold over and over, yet through VR, we’ve developed an experience that allows the audience to connect with this epic in a brand new way. HTC VIVE has engaged the newest methods in VR filmmaking and editing for 7 Miracles, pioneering the next generation of cinematic content.”

According to HTC Vive, the VR film was created using photogrammetry and volumetric video capture, producing images in 8K. This was all made possible by state-of-the-art VR capture technology. 7 miracles is a seven-part episodic feature and it is over 70 minutes long.
