Doogee F7 Pro – A better version of the F7

The last time we had a look at the Doogee F7; today, we shall take a look at its elder sibling, the Doogee F7 Pro.

Since this newer version of the Doogee F7 has the “Pro” tag affixed to it, you should expect better and improved features. And Doogee did a great job here, as they made a lot of improvements; from the screen size to the battery, better camera and a slightly bigger RAM.

Design & Display

Improving on the 5.5-inch display that came with the original Doogee F7, the Pro version sports a 5.7-inch display. With the Doogee F7 Pro, you also get the new USB type-C for faster data transfers and shorter charging time.

Despite the bigger display, the Doogee F7 Pro is only slightly heavier and thicker than its predecessor at 170 grams and 9.5mm against the latter’s 166 grams and 9.0mm respectively.

Hardware, OS & Performance

The Doogee F7 Pro doesn’t disappoint in performance as it comes with exciting features including a dedicated game control center. MediaTek’s Helio X20 chipset is retained with the Doogee F7 Pro. This is a chip that has a deca-core CPU and a Mali-T880 MP4 GPU for graphics handling.

Doogee F7 Pro features a 4GB RAM, which is an improvement over the 3gigs of RAM that came with its predecessor. The same 32GB ROM is used on the Doogee F7 Pro and can be extended via a microSD card.

This Pro version of the Doogee F7 is not different from the original version in terms of OS. The Doogee F7 Pro runs on the same Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS as its younger sibling.

In addition, the fingerprint sensor on the Doogee F7 Pro is a fast and accurate one with 360 degree fingerprint recognition.

Cameras

This is another area where Doogee made some improvements. The newer Doogee F7 Pro comes with a 21MP rear shooter and an 8MP (software interpolatable to 13MP) front-facing camera. This is against the 13MP+5MP combo seen on the F7. The back camera uses a Sony IMX230 sensor, which should be great for taking nice-looking photos. You also get an LED flashlight at the back for capturing images in low light areas.

Battery

Battery capacity on the Doogee F7 Pro is 4000mAh, which is bigger than the 3400 found on the Doogee F7. This bigger battery ensures that you get more time while using the smartphone. The battery is non-removable and since there’s a type-C USB port and fast charging capability, the charging time should be fast.

Key features

  • 5.7-inch Full HD IPS display
  • 4GB RAM, 32GB ROM
  • Dimension – 159.6 x 82.1 x 9.5mm

Conclusion

The Doogee F7 Pro is no doubt a better and more improved version of the F7. With a slightly larger screen, bigger battery, better cameras, and lots more, all for just about $50 more than the F7, the Doogee F7 Pro will be a nice deal if you ask me.
