Huawei P40 Pro has only one flaw but it is unimportant

The Huawei P40 Pro has topped the top of the best cameras in DxOMark since it was tested. However, in the audio field, the result was somewhat unexpected. It’s just barely reached the 20th position, which makes it a device with below-average performance. Like the Honor V30 Pro, the Huawei P40 Pro scored a total of 59 points in the DxOMark Audio tests, a flaw that may be minor.

In practice, he did worse in reproduction than in recording. That said, he scored 54 points in the first parameter analyzed and 74 in the second.

In the specific case of reproduction, the DxOMark Audio team found that the P40 Pro’s mono speaker is inferior to other high-end devices. The dual stereo speaker system plays an important role in spatial performance. As it is not present in Huawei’s latest flagship, there are some weaknesses. Still, and as it was revealed, we are only talking about the reproduction with the speaker and not in conversation.

Other issues were also raised due to the lack of bass and the presence of muffled treble. Performance at the volume level is also not good, with a much lower volume at the maximum and minimum levels compared to other devices.

However, there are also positive details. We have a good performance and well-controlled artifacts.

In the audio recording, this device works extremely well in all use cases. It has a good performance in terms of timbre, in addition to good dynamics. Reproduction only then fails.

In the case of the camera, the Huawei P40 Pro achieved a total score of 128 points. The other smartphone that appears next is the OPPO Find X2 Pro with 124. Then we have the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro that was undoubtedly the king of photography. It also has 124 Points. Soon after, another offer from Huawei appears. I mean, of course, the Mate 30 Pro 5G. This equipment, in particular, has 123 points.
