At the start of this week, Samsung was expected to do something really spectacular – release its best smartphone ever, the Galaxy S10. For several weeks, there have been reports of the latest smartphone and pictures have been popping up here and there. This device is supposed to be a unique Infinity-O display that other companies; the kind of display that other smartphone manufacturers will not be able come up with for quite some time.
On another level, there are leaks suggesting that Huawei is planning to foil Samsung’s plan. The company wants to release a phone with a phone that has a hole in the display months before the Galaxy S10 is officially announced.
On Twitter, there have been several tweets that Huawei is teasing a phone with a display similar to what Samsung has been working on. Huawei’s new smartphone will have holes at the display just like the Galaxy A8s and Galaxy S10 coming with camera holes at the top.
Huawei plans to release this phone which is seen as the world’s first hole-screen mobile phone by the start of December, that should be earlier than the release of Samsung Galaxy A8s. It still remains to be seen how Samsung will take this Huawei challenge.
BOE, another Chinese smartphone maker may be the company responsible for making the LCD screen of the Galaxy A8s, not Samsung. In view of this, it seems reasonable that one should think of both Huawei’s phone and Samsung’s phone as sharing the same display technology.
However, a report from Korea said that the new Galaxy S10 OLED Infinity-O screens are now in production. It is believed that Huawei’s OLED Infinity-O display phone will be unveiled at some time in December, 2018.
The new Huawei’s 7nm Kirin 980 processor, 6GB of RAM, will be the main features on the smartphone and it will run on Android 9.0 Pie with EMUI on top. Earlier in 2024, Huawei released the Mate 20 Pro. That device is an Android device without rival right now, although it was not released in the US. It shows that the company is really getting ready to show more innovative means of competing edge to edge with Samsung as 2018 draws to a close.
