As many will remember, the phone was launched globally in September 2016 and was the first smartphone equipped with the Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.

Earlier this month, it seemed that LG was only preparing the release of the Android 8.0 Oreo update for another device, the Q6. Instead, the South Korean company was evidently at work also on the V20.

The Android Oreo update for LG V20 has a size of over 1.6GB, as reported by the MyLGPhones website. In addition to Android Oreo, the new update also includes an improvement of the blue light filter, which can be accessed via the ‘comfort view’. There are as many as 10 new filter adjustment levels, and another feature that allows you to hide Home touch buttons while using apps is also confirmed. In addition, the update brings new forms of icons and an improved layout of settings.

In addition to the main new additions, the Android Oreo update allows the device to maximize battery consumption. In addition, there is also the notification badge on the app icons to view the number of new notifications. Likewise, users can manage notifications from each of their apps directly from one location.

It is not clear when the new update will reach the LG V20 units outside South Korea, although it seems certain that this update will come virtually across the globe.
