Pepsi P1 is Powerful Yet Affordable. Specs Inside

When you hear the word Pepsi what comes to mind is a popular carbonated drink. But that company has recently showed interest in grabbing some money from the expanding smartphone market with release of its own smartphone dubbed Pepsi P1.  The new Pepsi P1 is a device that promises a lot more than you’d expect at its price, with features such as a metal body, a Full HD display, an octa-core processor and a fingerprint scanner.

DESIGN AND DISPLAY

The Pepsi P1 can boast of a  premium look with a unibody design featuring aluminium material.  With a thickness of just 7.7 millimetres you can perhaps describe the smartphone as a slim one. It comes in blue, gold and silver variants.

The affordable smartphone crams in a large 5.5-inch diagonal display with a Full HD resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. The screen features 2.5D glass and as you must expect,  the soft drink maker’s signature red, white and blue colours.

CAMERA AND MEMORY

Supposing you are a photo freak, the Pepsi P1 can take pretty pictures too.  You get a combo of a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. The main sensor, which is made by Samsung, features an f/2.0 aperture.

For the storage you get a 16 GB of onboard storage for keeping your photos, videos and other files. MicroSD storage expansion of up to 64 GB is supported also.

PERFORMANCE

Delving into the specs, the Pepsi P1 comes loaded with an octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor which delivers a snappy performance of up to 1.7 GHz. The capable-looking chip is paired with a 2 GB of RAM.  The phone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system for rich user experience.

Surfing the web should be very swift as the Pepsi P1 given its support for 4G (LTE) connectivity. The device has dual-SIM feature, but note that using two SIM cards means you will have to sacrifice the ability to use a microSD card for storage expansion.

The smartphone also features a fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication. A 3000mAh battery completes the package.
