Poco India GM drops hint at a new phone launching in India next month

Since POCO became an independent company back in January, we haven’t seen many phones from them. We expect the company to launch a new smartphone real soon, anyway According to a recent rumor, POCO might launch a new smartphone in the next few days. Poco’s India GM Manmohan Chandolu has even gone on to hint that this might be true. In a recent interview, Manmohan Chandolu revealed that the new phone from POCO will be launched in India in July.

The exec also revealed that the phone to be launched isn’t the POCO F2 Pro. Instead, it will be a different phone released exclusively for users within India.

Considering rumors that have developed over the past couple of weeks, the phone to be released is likely the POCO M2 Pro. The company has given the phone the codename “gram.”

Kernel code spotted also suggests that the phone share similar specs with the Redmi Note 9 Pro. This means the phone will likely pack the Snapdragon 720G processor.

We also got to learn about upcoming products from POCO during Manmohan Chandolu’s interview. These include the Pop Buds TWS earphones. According to the exec, the earphones will be developed alongside Xiaomi’s R&D team. If this is true, the earphones will likely come with similar features to one of the current Xiaomi TWS earphones.

For now, however, we do not know the exact date the Poco F2 Pro will be launched.
