Realme Commences ColorOS Update Roll Out For 3 Phones

Popular Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Realme has started rolling out stable ColorOS 5.2 update for Realme 2, its Pro version, and Realme C1 phones. The updates have been in the works since December last year but everything seems to be fine for January 2019. It is not clear what held the company back from fulfilling its promise in December.

The company has started seeding the update to these smartphones simultaneously. The update for Realme 2Pro is meant for bringing about a better battery optimization and also it gets the December security patch.

The company stated on its security forum that its over-the air (OTA) update will be seeded in a phased manner and that only a select number of Realme 2 and Realme C1 users will get it at the initial stage.

This move will enable the company to access if there would be any anticipation of critical bugs. Once any is reported, it will be easy for Realme to deal with it before it goes very far.

With this update, there are a few additions including single swipe notification dismiss, headset icon in status bar and a smart bar for ease of multi-tasking, and for other important uses.

Once a user gets the new update, he or she will be able to swipe from left to right and quickly dismiss any notification. To swipe will reboot in the shutdown interface, which itself is also a good things.

For ways to do faster app launching and other things, the user is now able to add important apps into the new “smart bar” and a headset icon will also be available in the status bar once the headphones are plugged.
