Samsung Galaxy J6 VS Samsung Galaxy A6 – The Galaxy J6 offers more for less. Samsung has been a major player in the high-end segment of the smartphone market. Their latest flagship, the Samsung Galaxy S9, and S9 Plus have done extremely well. And they have the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 on its way too. The South Korean company is also looking at the mid-range market, and obviously, they want to be a major player there just like Xiaomi.

Samsung has released a couple of mid-range smartphones for the second quarter of 2018. And they’ve announced a couple more. Recently, they released the Samsung Galaxy J6, J8, A6 and A6 Plus to the Indian market. The Samsung Galaxy J6 and Galaxy A6 looks quite identical and will be the focus of this article. Let’s see if there are any differences between them and which one is worthy of our money.

The design of the Galaxy J6 and A6 looks plain and simple. The Samsung Galaxy A6 features an antenna line like a u-shape at the top and bottom back. They both feature a front glass with a plastic unibody. The back of the Galaxy J6 and A6 is curved at the sides. The Samsung Galaxy J6 is bulky measuring 8.2mm thick while the Galaxy A6 measures 7.7mm thick.

At the back of the Galaxy J6 and A6 looks similar aside from the antenna lines. They feature a single rear camera, which is placed at the top center. Below the rear camera is the fingerprint sensor and below that is the Samsung brand name. Their LED flash is at the right-hand side of the rear camera. The Samsung Galaxy J6 is available in Blue, Gold and Black body colors. While the Galaxy A6 is also available in Blue, Gold and Black body colors plus an additional Lavender body color.

It’s really good to see Samsung’s new mid-range smartphones featuring Super AMOLED touchscreen. The screen technology is one of the best in the market. It’s hard to spot a difference between the Galaxy J6 and A6. They both sport a 5.6 inch Super AMOLED touchscreen, 720 x 1480 pixels resolution, an 18.5:9 aspect ratio and 294 PPI density. The screen of the Galaxy A6 stretches up to 75% screen-to-body ratio. While the screen of the Galaxy J6 stretches up to 75.9% screen-to-body ratio.

I guess the camera is the only real difference between these two smartphones. The rear camera of the Galaxy J6 features a 13MP sensor, f/1.9 aperture, autofocus and LED flash. While the front camera of the Galaxy J6 features an 8MP sensor, f/1.9 aperture and LED flash. The Galaxy A6 features better camera specs at the rear is a 16MP sensor, f/1.7 aperture, phase detection autofocus and LED flash. The front camera is also equipped with a 16MP sensor, f/1.9 aperture and LED flash.

Powering the Samsung Galaxy J6 and A6 is Exynos 7870 chipset coupled with Mali-T830 MP1 graphics processing unit. The Exynos 7870 chipset on both phones carries Octa-core processor clocked 1.6GHz. They both run on Samsung experience skin overlaid on top of Android 8.0 Oreo. Performance should virtually be the same on both smartphones.

Is just as if these two smartphones are twins with their specifications. In terms of memory, both the Galaxy J6 and A6 have two variants of memory. The 3GB memory with 32GB internal storage and the 4GB memory with 64GB internal storage.

The Samsung Galaxy J6 and Galaxy A6 pack the same non-removable Li-lon 3000 mAh battery. Unfortunately, they don’t support fast battery charging. Charging should take over 2 hours from 0% to 100% using its micro USB 2.0 charger.
