The Ark Elf S8 has been launched on the 12th of March as a Samsung Galaxy S8 clone that retails for a giveaway price. The company is known for getting inspirations from other OEM and they didn’t fail with this.
The Elf S8 is very affordable, so don’t expect impressive specs and features. Nonetheless, it dishes out a stunning bezel-less display. But is it worth it? Lets find out.
Design
I have absolutely no idea what’s going here to be honest, it looks more like a Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus Clone from the back. The dual rear camera are vertical at the top middle with the fingerprint scanner below, just like the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus we saw at the MWC.
Beside the dual rear cameras to the left, is the dual-LED flash. While a “heart rate” sensors sits to the right. Moving to the sides, you can actually see the display through the sides. It measures 9.4 mm in thickness, and weighs just 157g overall. You can get it in Blue and Black colors only.
Display
Impressively it sports super minimal bezels with tiny narrow bezels in sight. Dishing out an 18:9 aspect ratio as the stretches up to 77.23% screen to body ratio, absolutely impressive for its price.
The bottom bezel came out to play a little bit, while the top houses the selfie camera and speaker grille. The 5.72-inch FWVGA TFT capacitive touchscreen displays like other budget smartphone. Boasting of just 960 x 480 pixels in resolution and 188 pixel per inch density for normal visuals.
Hardware and Software
Under the hood is the MediaTek MT6580 chip, a 32-bit CPU architecture alongside 4-cores of processor. The Quad-core processor runs at a speed of 1.3GHz with a 28nm process technology for a smooth ride. Handling graphics is the ARM Mali-400 MP2 processor with 2-Cores.
Moving further, there’s just 1GB of RAM with a memory speed 533 MHz for fast multitasking. While 8GB storage space is available to store all files and apps. If you need more space, you can always upgrade up to 64GB using a memory card. The Elf S8 runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with modified user interface.
Camera
The dual 8MP + 0.3MP dual rear camera is not as bad as you might think. They come with a LED flash and captures 3K resolution images, with the Ark Elf S8, you can take pictures that boasts of 3266 x 2449 pixels in dimension. Record videos of 720 pixels at 30 frames per second and take cute selfies with the 2MP selfie camera.
Battery
Powering the Ark Elf S8 is a 2500mAh removable Li-Ion battery with fast no charging technology. Even without the fast charging feature, it shouldn’t take more than 1.9 hours to fully charge up the battery from 0% to 100%.

I started reading with great expectation, but that didn’t last long as it got punctured when i saw it only has 1GB of RAM and a battery or just a little over 2000. This isn’t impressive at all. Though, the phone itself looks appealing on the outside. If the price is affordable, the company might end up selling quite a few of it.
Nice clone but as earlier stated that don’t expect much impressive spec from it! The phone lack behind in the battery capacity and the resolution
