Asus latest laptop is the Zenbook Flip S which is considered one of the best hybrid laptops that exist presently. AsusTek Computer Inc is a well-known manufacturer of laptops, desktops and tablets, so you can rest assured that their products are excellent and durable. Display and Design
Asus Zenbook Flip S has a 13.1-inch Gorilla glass display and its contrast are very lively, but brightness mediocre. Using Zenbook Flip S will is not comfortable under direct sunlight.
Asus Zenbook Flip S is wonderful and stronger than previous Zenbook. Its made from aerospace grade aluminium, making it more rigid to work on and on top of the lid is the Asus trademark concentric rings with Asus logo incised in gold at the centre. It features a 2-in-1 flip (can be used as a laptop, tablet, tent or display mode). The fingerprint is positioned at the right side of the laptop to enhance easy accessibility in any condition, unlike Vivobook pro that has its own in the corner touchpad. It only has two USB-C ports on either side, so Asus packs an adapter in the box that expands a USB-C port to HDMI and USB-3.0 to ease this insufficiency.
The keyboard is very flat and can make typographical errors increase if you are not used to it. The keyboard also has a backlight with white LEDs, but they glow yellow. The touchpad measures 4.4 x 2.7 inch, and it is very smooth, broad and works accurately. Operations like typing and zooming are pleasant on this touchpad.
It also features stylus at 1024 levels of pressure that quickly detects even slight movements and allows users to write and draw as if it were on a sheet. The amount of pressure you apply with your stylus determines the line weight you get
Performance
The Integrated Intel HD Graphics 620 can only handle older games very well, so it is not a pretty option for playing high-end graphics games, but can be used as a laptop for general computing use. Asus Zenbook Flip S will only last for seven hours and its battery charges very fast (reaches 60% at about 1 hour). The 2.7GHZ core i7-7500U CPU plus 16GB RAM enhances speed and effectiveness in multitasking.
Its 512GB SSD is estimated to have a read and write speed of 1780MB/sec and 613MB/sec
Other Miscellaneous Features
- Audio – The two Harmon Kardon branded speakers underneath are useful, so it is a massive benefit for viewing movies and listening to music. You can even adjust sound settings with the AudioWizard application.
- Camera/ Webcam – The VGA webcam is very poor, so you might not need to use it unless it is compulsory.
