Blackview BV5800 launched with 5580mAh Battery and Android 8.1 Oreo

Blackview BV5800 has been introduced by the company on their official website. Blackview is adding new affordable rugged devices to its list of rugged Smartphones. They were all on showcase at the 2018 Mobile World Congress, and it seems Blackview is ready to release them.

The BV5800 is one of those smartphones we saw at Blackview stand during the MWC. The budget rugged smartphone houses a massive 5580mAh battery and runs on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo. Without further ado, meet the Blackview BV5800.

Design

At first glance, you’ll definitely know it’s a rugged smartphone. It has a Polycarbonate body with Metal finishes, making it resist falls and scratches. The device prides in its IP68 certifications, which can be boldly seen at the rear, offering dust and water resistant for up to 30 minutes.

The dual rear camera sits on a Metal foundation at the top middle, with the fingerprint scanner underneath. Then there’s a dual-LED flash as well, sitting beside the dual shooters. Turning to the sides, it has an octagon-like shape, providing a firmer grip when held. It’s available in Black, Yellow and Green mix body.

Gone are the days when rugged phones comes with a chunk of bezels. The Blackview BV5800 dishes out an 18:9 aspect ratio, giving users the full view experience. Even though there are still significant amount of bezels, they are not as much as they use to be.

The 5.5-inch HD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen displays like a budget smartphone it is. However, it boasts of 1440 x 720 pixels in resolution and 292.72 pixel per inch density for clear visuals. The screen is also scratch resistant and stretches up to 75% screen to body ratio.

Hardware and Software

Under the hood is the MediaTek MT6739 chip coupled with quad-core processor and 64-bit CPU architecture. The 4-Cores of processor here reaches a standard clock speed of 1.5GHz with 28nm process technology. Handling graphics is the PowerVR GE8100 graphics processor which clocks at 570MHz.

There’s a standard 2GB RAM for multitasking, with a memory speed of 667MHz. While a standard 16GB storage space is available as well in terms of storing files. You can upgrade up to 64GB using a memory card. The Blackview BV5800 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with modified user interface.

Camera

For photography, there’s a dual 13MP + 0.3MP dual rear shooters that captures photographs with 4163 x 3122 pixels in dimension. The cameras come with lots of quality features, including a dual-LED flash, it can also record videos of 1080 pixels at 30 frames per second. While the 8MP selfie camera takes cute selfies.

Battery

Powering the Blackview BV5800 is a 5580mAh non-removable Li-Po battery with fast charging technology. With the fast charging feature, it shouldn’t take up to 2.5 hours to fully charge up the battery from 0% to 100%.
