Blackview BV5800 Pro has been launched by the company as the world’s cheapest rugged phone with wireless charging feature. This is the upgraded version of the BV5800 smartphone we reviewed earlier, the devices were on showcase at the 2018 MWC.
The BV5800 Pro is now available for sale on shopping stores, it houses a massive 5580mAh battery as well. Running on the latest Google’s operating system, Android 8.1 Oreo with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage space. Lets find out more.
Design
This device is as rugged as it gets, ready by for anything thrown at it. It’s Polycarbonate body with Metal finishes does all the job in terms of protecting this piece of art. With its IP68 certifications, you can be bothered about taking a selfie at the pool or under the rain.
It’s also dust resistant, whenever you pick it up, you don’t need to dust the body off before using it. To be honest, the Metal foundation at the top middle adds to the beauty of this device. It houses the dual rear shooters, fingerprint scanner and dual-LED flash as well. You can get it in Black, Yellow and Green mix colors.
Display
The Blackview BV5800 Pro has the full view display for bezel-less lovers. With its 18:9 aspect ratio screen, be ready to enjoy your gaming and videos with no borders. Nonetheless, it comes with some bezels though, they are mainly visible at the top and bottom corner.
Still the same 5.5-inch HD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen here. Boasting of 1440 x 720 pixels in resolution and 292.72 pixel per inch density for standard visuals. There’s a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on top of the screen, to protect from falls and offers scratch resistant as well. The screen stretches up to 75% screen to body ratio.
Hardware and Software
The MediaTek MT6739 runs the race here with quad-core processor and 64-bit CPU architecture. The 4-Cores of processor here runs at a standard clock speed of 1.5GHz with 28nm process technology. Handling graphics is the PowerVR GE8100 graphics processor clocking at 570MHz.
Multitask light apps with 2GB RAM, which has a memory speed of 667MHz. While for storage, 16GB space is available as well in terms of storing files. However, you can always upgrade up to 64GB using a memory card. The Blackview BV5800 Pro runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with modified user interface.
Camera
The second camera has been bumped up a bit in terms of pixels, the Pro version has 13MP + 2MP dual rear shooters. This captures photographs with 4163 x 3122 pixels in dimension, the second camera also helps in what the company calls “Portrait mode”. There’s a dual-LED flash to compliment the cameras in the dark, while videos of 1080 pixels are recorded at 30 frames per second. An 8MP selfie camera will do justice to your face.
Battery
Powering the Blackview BV5800 Pro is a 5580mAh non-removable Li-Po battery with fast and wireless charging technology. With the fast charging feature, it shouldn’t take up to 2.5 hours to fully charge up the battery from 0% to 100%.
