BLU Vivo XL3 launched with Android 8.0 Oreo – Review, Specs and Price

BLU just released an update to the XL2, welcome the all new BLU Vivo XL3. A midrange smartphone that offers great value for money and runs on the new Oreo operating system.

The company has released some smartphones these past couple of weeks but it seems they aren’t done yet. The XL3 looks a modern device and exudes style and class. Want to know more? Stay with me.

BLU Vivo XL3

Made from Plastic but you won’t have a clue, it reflects light in the most subtle way. Perfect device to hold when you are out and about, it’s like holding a piece of art. The rear camera and LED flash is at the top left corner in a horizontal position.

The fingerprint scanner is just above the BLU logo, all at the back of this shining device. At the bottom corner, a rear loudspeaker is spotted for quality music and bass. Additionally, it measures 8.1 mm in thickness, making it one of the slimmest budget smartphones. Furthermore, it weighs 145g and available in Gold and Silver colors.

BLU Vivo XL3

It’s bezel-less, reaching 73.65 screen to body ratio and dishing out an 18:9 screen to body ratio. It has no narrow bezels whatsoever and no navigation buttons at the bottom bezel as well. Nonetheless, the top bezel houses the usual features like the selfie camera and the rest.

The 5-inch HD+ IPS capacitive touchscreen has 1440 x 720 pixels in resolution for amazing movie time and quality gaming period. It has 293 pixel per inch density bringing out everything on the screen and making your games and movies very clear.

Hardware and Software

The Vivo XL3 houses the MediaTek MT6737 chipset with 4-cores of processor and 64-bit CPU architecture. Disappointingly, the processor on the Vivo XL3 reaches a maximum speed of 1.3 GHz and has a 28nm process technology. Conducting graphics is the ARM Mali-T720 MP2 graphics processor with a single core and reaches a clock speed of 600MHz.

Multitasking through heavy apps shouldn’t be a problem with 3GB of RAM space available, but disappointingly it has a memory speed of just 640MHz. There’s 32GB storage space ready to accommodate all files, you can also upgrade up to 64GB. The Vivo XL3 runs on Android 8.0 Oreo operating system out of the box.

Capture 4K resolution images with BLU Vivo XL3, the 13MP comes alongside a LED flash and takes photographs with 4160 x 3120 pixels in dimension. In addition, the camera comes with lots of quality features and record videos of 1080 pixels at 30 frames per second. For selfies, there’s another 13MP camera at the top bezel for selfies and video calls.

Powering the BLU Vivo XL3 is a 3000mAh non-removable Li-Po battery with no fast charging technology. Typically, without the fast charging feature, it might take more than 3 hours to fully charge up the battery from 0% to 100%.
