If you read my review of the Lenovo Legion R720, you’d remember that I pointed out its one flaw – a 1080p display. The Dell Inspiron 15 7577 laptop is the solution to that. This laptop comes with an Ultra HD or 4K display in addition to the other features found on the R720, and more.
The Inspiron 15 7577 is a promising laptop for those who may not be able to afford an Alienware. For under $1000, this gaming laptop is a better alternative to the Legion R720.
Design

First, Dell used a blend of metal-looking plastic and aluminum for the square-esque body. You have a single large hinge that makes opening the lid with one hand easy.
The Dell Inspiron 15 7577 is quite heavier than the Legion R720 as it weighs 2.85 kg against the latter’s 2.2kg.
Display
This is one of the high points for this laptop. The display on the Dell Inspiron 15 7577 is a 15.6-inch 4K vivid display. This translates to a crisp and sharp display that is also very bright. Colour saturation and contrast on this display are also really nice
Keyboard and Touchpad
The keyboard on this device is a full-size island-style one with a numeric panel. The touchpad is a nice with a red outline surrounding it. This combination will ensure a comfortable typing and general user experience.
Performance
The Inspiron 15 7577 uses the same Intel Core i7-7700HQ CPU and [a slightly slower] Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 – Max-Q – GPU found in the Lenovo Legion R720. This means that with the fast processor and GPU, running most of the AAA game titles would be fun.
Just like the Legion R720, the Inspiron 15 7577 also comes with two storage devices – a main 128GB SSD, and a secondary 1TB HDD. RAM size is 16GB which is double what you get for the Legion R720.
Although the display is a very good one, the GPU isn’t optimized for it, as it struggles to output demanding games at 4K resolution. This seeming mismatch is the only downside with this laptop.
Battery Life
Battery life for this laptop is about 6 hours. The Ultra HD display and power-hungry GPU makes the battery runtime for this laptop below average.
Connectivity Options
For connectivity, the Dell Inspiron 15 7577 houses three USB 3.0 ports, one USB type-C port (with Thunderbolt 3), HDMI port, Ethernet port, microSD card slot, support for Bluetooth 4.2 and WiFi, and a regular headphone jack.
Pricing
Pricing for the Dell Inspiron 15 7577 starts at $900 and is available on the major online stores worldwide.

Conclusion
For less than $1000, the Dell Inspiron 15 7577 is a great alternative to many similarly spec’d gaming laptops. The only drawback here is its GPU – the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 Max-Q – which is not able to cope with the 4K screen.
