DEXP Ixion Z255 launched with Bezel-less Display – Review, Specs and Price

Russian company DEXP just launched the DEXP Ixion Z255 device, which is an Android 4G smartphone. The company is just kick starting their own mobile week and would be releasing affordable smartphones.

The device is a budget smartphone that offers quite a great value for money. The bezel-less smartphone packs 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, 3000mAh battery among other features. Want to know more? Stay with me.

Design

DEXP Ixion Z255

Sports a metal + plastic mix body, the DEXP Ixion Z255 is a beauty no doubt. At the top middle, there’s a rear camera with a LED flash underneath, then the fingerprint scanner follows suit. All in a vertical position defining the rear’s aesthetics

At the bottom corner, the DEXP logo is present while the loudspeaker sits to the left. The phone should be very easy to hold and operate, weighing just 152g. But turning over to the sides, it’s quite thick, measuring 10.2 mm slim. The Ixion Z255 is available in only Blue.

Display

The company is giving people what they want going with the bezel-less trend. The Z255 dishes out a full view display and an 18:9 aspect ratio. Additionally, the screen got up to 75.6% screen to body ratio, offering more screen than bezels. The Z255 is perfect for those on a budget that want to use a bezel-less smartphone.

It comes with a front LED flash which is on the top bezel alongside the selfie camera, speaker grille and ambient light sensor. At the bottom bezel there’s a physical navigation button just like the ones on previous iPhones. The 5.5-inch IPS capacitive touchscreen has a resolution of 1280 x 640 pixels. Details on the screen should be clear enough with 260 pixel per inch density.

Hardware and Software

Under the hood is the MediaTek MT6737V chip with a 64-bit CPU architecture and 4-cores of processor. The quad-core processor boasts of a clock speed of 1.25 GHz alongside 28nm process technology offering a smooth ride. The ARM Mali-T720 MP1 graphics processor presides in graphics and clocks at 600MHz.

It has a standard 2GB of RAM space with a memory speed of 640MHz for fast multitasking. In terms of storage, it houses 16GB of storage space, which you can upgrade further up to 64GB. The Ixion Z255 runs on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.

Camera

The 8MP rear camera has f/2.2 aperture and captures 4K resolution images. With the DEXP Ixion Z255, you can capture photographs with 3266 x 2449 pixels in dimension. The camera comes with a LED flash and other quality features to help even in low light environment. Record videos of 720 pixels at 30 frames per second and take cute selfies with the 2MP selfie camera that has a front flash.

Battery

Powering the DEXP Ixion Z255 is a 3000mAh removable Li-Ion battery with no fast charging technology. Without the fast charging feature, it will take more than 2 hours to fully charge up the battery from 0% to 100%.
