The Sony PlayStation 4 (along with the high-end PS4 Pro) are the most sold consoles of this generation with a total of 92 million sales. It’s not hard to see why, with a combination of powerful hardware, a simplistic user experience and a whole series of high-quality and engaging exclusive games, including God of War and the upcoming Death Stranding.
But even if the PS4 is the winner among the current consoles, it’s not perfect. One of the biggest annoyances among PS4 players is the background music that plays in loops when you’re in the main PS4 menu. It is actually a rather relaxing melody, but once you have listened to it for an hour without interruption while waiting for a game to be downloaded, it can really irritate you
The good news is that there is a way to disable PS4 background music, and it’s so simple that you’ll wonder why you’ve spent the last six years listening to the same annoying music over and over again.
How to disable PS4 background music
It’s really a quick and easy process to disable background music on your PS4:
- Turn on your PS4.
- Go to Settings> Sound and screen.
- Uncheck the box next to System Music to disable it.
And you are there! Now you have a quiet home menu, with no trace of that annoying rising tune in the background. If you find that you are missing, just go back to the Sound and Display menu and check the System music checkbox again.
We told you it was simple, right?
