Today we shall take a look at the Doogee F7. Although released in 2016, this smartphone packs a decent list of features – particularly the USB type-C – that prompted me to make a review about it. Below is an image of what I’m talking about:
So, before I go on and on, ranting about how great this device is, let’s have a candid review about the Doogee F7, shall we?
Design & Display
You have the new USB type-C at the bottom of this device for faster data transfers as well as faster a charging time.
The Doogee F7 is 166 grams heavy and 9.0mm thin (or thick). The device comes in a rectangular bar form with curved edges for a comfortable grip. There’s a fingerprint sensor below the camera at the back.
The screen is a 5.5-inch IPS display with 2.5D curved glass. Screen resolution is Full HD, that is, 1920 x 1080 pixels. This translates to a pixel density of 401PPI.
Hardware, OS & Performance
Performance on the F7 is supposed to be great based on its specifications. However, most times great paper specs don’t really translate to a wonderful performance. That been said, the Doogee F7 features the MediaTek MTK6797 Helio X20 SoC. This chipset includes a deca-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz and a Mali-T880 MP4 GPU.
There’s 3gigs of RAM complemented by 32GB of internal storage. As usual, there is a hybrid SIM/microSD slot which can be used to expand the internal storage.
For running your apps and games, the Doogee F7 comes with the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS preinstalled.
Cameras
There are two cameras in total for the Doogee F7 – a 5MP selfie camera and a 13MP rear sensor for capturing nice photos. The cameras can produce decent images; however, you shouldn’t expect an iPhone-esque image quality.
Battery
Battery capacity on the Doogee F7 is quite impressive at 3400mAh. And as usual the battery is a Li-Po type and non-removable. This should give users a nice battery life for their common tasks.

There is a fingerprint sensor at the back; while at the front you’ll find a gyroscope sensor, a hall sensor, the usual light and proximity sensors. The phone supports Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, WiFi, and 4G/LTE as well as the usual GSM bands.

Conclusion
The Doogee F7 is a pretty decent device, with some nice features. Considering the number of Chinese smartphones that come with almost similar specifications, Doogee should have made this device somewhat different by giving it one stellar feature – besides the type-C USB.
