E&L S55 Specs Review, 5.5 Inches Display, Price, 4G Android

E&L S55 is a single version rugged smartphone from the company and it arrives this month of March 2019. It comes with nice features although the operating system is Oreo. It is hoped that this OS will be able to upgrade in no time to the latest Android.

It is totally designed to withstand immersion and pressure from that. Dust are not able to penetrate the device anyhow and it is built according to United States military standards.

In this review, we are interested in checking out the salient features of the smartphone and see if they are a fit for savvy phone users. Let’s begin with the design and display and end with price and availability.

Design and Display

The E&L S55 device comes in a sleek polycarbonate body design. The dimensions are 76.5 x 160 x 13.6 mm and the weight specs is 185 with the battery inside. The rugged device comes only in black color. It is a fingerprint-enabled device that comes without waterproof option. However, there is face recognition in the setup.

At the display is a 5.5 inches IPS multitouch screen device which comes without a secondary display but with display protection. Other good display features are 480 x 960 pixels in resolution, 16 million display colors, 195 pixels per inch, Dragontrail glass, scratch resistant, and a host of other good features.

Camera Features

There are three cameras in the E&L S55. One to the front, two to the back. At the rear are 8 MP and 2 MP lenses which come with dual-LED flash. Meanwhile, the selfie camera is 5 MP which comes without flash option.

Other nice camera options are auto focus, touch focus, panorama, HDR, scene mode, and others not as popular as these.

Hardware and Software

As mentioned above, the E&L S55 is functioning with the help of Android OS v8.1 Oreo which hopefully can upgrade its firmware to the Pie. Also, the chipset is MediaTek MT6739 working with 18nm process technology and 64-bit architecture. The CPU is Quad-core, while the GPU is PowerVR.

Storage Capacity and Sensors

E&L S55 is blessed with 2GB of RAM which can’t be expanded. The internal storage is 16GB and it can be expanded to 256GB with a microSD card. Sensors are up to five in the device and they are accelerometer, proximity, ambient light, and fingerprint.

Network and Connectivity

Connectivity of the phone is 4G and that means it is also able to work with 2G, 3G as well for internet connection. This is a certified 4G phone. It also makes use of two nano SIM slots to enable smooth activity.

Other nice connectivity in the phone are Wi-Fi, hotspot, Bluetooth v4.0, headphone jack, USB type c, v2.0 with OTG. Sure enough, there is no NFC, infrared or HDMI in the device.

Battery Power

Powering the E&L S55 is a Li-Po 3500 May un-removable battery which comes without wireless charging and without fast charging option. Talk time and standby time are not specified yet.

Price and Availability

Officially, the price of E&L S55 approximately not known. This device is available towards the end of March 2019 and buyers can find it on shopping stores online.
