Facebook, Instagram and Twitter on their way to the Huawei store

Huawei has ensured that Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter will soon reach the AppGallery, the alternative to the Play Store. This makes sense because in order to seduce Western buyers, the Chinese company will have to make the most popular applications available in the West. Currently, this platform mainly provides applications for Chinese consumers, most of which are unknown to users in other countries.

Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter on their way to the Huawei store

Deprived of the Android license since May 2019, Huawei has accelerated the development of its alternative to Google services, namely Huawei Mobile Services. This set of applications includes, for example, the Huawei Browser. We also have Huawei Cloud, Huawei Wallet, and AppGallery, the app store designed to replace the famous Play Store. Available in China for several years, AppGallery still offers little content for users outside of China.

In fact, several ultra-popular American applications are still missing- Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. It is that the Trump decree effectively prohibits the company from using American technologies in its new smartphones. However, there seems to be a trick for these apps to reach the Huawei platform.

Interviewed on the sidelines of the conference on Monday, February 24, 2020, Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei’s mobile unit, assured that Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter will soon be available on the AppGallery. However, the official did not specify when these famous American applications will be in the store, reports the website GadgetMatch.

It is that without these famous applications, Huawei would have trouble convincing Western users to put several hundred Euros on a private smartphone from Google services. Nevertheless, Huawei is proud to have “one of the top three application stores in the world, responding to more than 600 million users of Huawei devices in more than 170 countries.

It remains now to know what trick Huawei has up its sleeve to bring these apps to its app store.
