According to some data published by EA Sports, FIFA 18 is the title of the most popular sport in the world. Released 11 months ago, it is the most-played edition in history, and the numbers are not joking. In about a year, FIFA has sold over 24 million copies, with 7 billion games played and more than 17 billion goals scored.
It is the best-selling sports game of all time, with over 260 million copies sold since the first edition; additionally, FIFA Ultimate Team is confirmed as one of the most popular modes, with over 13 million teams created in the latest edition. The EA Sports FIFA 18 Global Series, then, saw over 20 million players from 60 different nations challenge each other.
FIFA Mobile has also achieved excellent numbers, with around 193 million downloads worldwide, including the recent launch in China with more than 900 million sessions. To date, FIFA Online 3 and 4 are confirmed as securities of great value and interest in Asia, with 115 million registered gamers and more than 15 billion games played.
The following title, FIFA 19, will be available worldwide from September 28 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Origin for PC, and Nintendo Switch. This edition will offer players the UEFA Champions League, numerous gameplay innovations, and more than 600 licensed clubs to represent the world’s most prestigious championships, such as the Premier League, Liga, Serie A, and Chinese Super League.
