FNF iFive Pro 2 Phoenix OS Tablet – A Nice Alternative To The iPad

The FNF iFive Pro 2 is a nicely-specd tablet PC with a 2K screen resolution and so much more. This device is a sort of elder sibling to the previously reviewed iFive Mini 4S. The iFive Pro 2 looks a lot like the Mini 4S with some differences including a bigger screen and a larger RAM size. Let’s take a look at how this tablet PC compares with other tablets, shall we?

FNF iFive Pro 2 Design & Display

FNF iFive Pro 2

First off, the design language of the iFive Pro 2 speaks greatly of the manufacturer’s aesthetic values. With the iFive Pro 2, you get an ultra-thin metal body made of aluminum. This makes the tablet feel comfortable on the hands. And with a 7.7mm thin body weighing 500 grams, the iFive Pro 2 is both sleek and light for its size. Still on the design, there is a textured leather back cover on the iFive Pro 2.

At the front of this tablet is a 9.7-inch Retina display. The screen resolution is same as the iFive Mini 4S at 2048 x 1536 pixels. This gives a pixel density of 264PPI and the frame rate can reach 60fps, which is great. The screen isn’t fully laminated as that found on the smaller Mini 4S.

Surprisingly, there is a fingerprint sensor embedded in the home button sitting under the screen. This is probably the first tablet that I know that has a fingerprint scanner. And for connecting a keyboard, you get a magnetic docking port at the bottom of the iFive Pro 2 – in landscape mode.

Hardware, OS & Performance

The iFive Pro 2 uses the same chipset as the Mini 4S. You get the Rockchip RK3288 quad-core processor with a Mali-T764 GPU. There’s also 4gigs of RAM – 50% more than the Mini 4S’s – and the same 32GB ROM that came with the Mini 4S, which can also be expanded via a microSD card.

With this device, you also get four great speakers, which are better than those found on the Mini 4S.

Phoenix OS
Phoenix OS

The software running on the FNF iFive Pro 2 is called “Phoenix OS” which is based on Android 6.01 Marshmallow. This OS offers some pretty exciting features including a multi-window app support allowing you to run two or more apps side-by-side on the same screen.

Cameras

It seems like the iFive Pro never stops to dazzle with its great features. This time we take a look at its cameras. On the front of this tablet is a (massive) 5MP sensor – massive because this is a tablet PC. Then you get another massive 13MP rear camera with auto-focus and flash. These cameras should be great for you photography needs and video recording.

Battery

The battery capacity on this tablet is 7800mAh, which should deliver about a day’s usage on light use. You get a 5V/3A battery charger and a type-C USB port for faster charging.
