FordPass App Ensures Future of Smart Cars

There are some things that piss off old car owners… constant need for car repair, sagging upholstery, and fading clear coat… these are just a few things you can save yourself from when you buy one of the latest smart cars. But there’s more to it, especially if you have in possession a 2020 model Ford Puma, with the FordPass smartphone app.

These are futuristic bells and wishes go a long way in unlocking a car’s true potential. The app is available for both Android and iOS devices. Just link it to any Ford car that has a FordPass Connect embedded modem, and you’re good to go.

It is amazing, yet, not the only car app available for smartphones. There are a number of other apps, many of which a vehicle owner can use and pay for every month. FordPass used to charge $20 per month in the United States and it was available through the service of AT&T.

To make use of FordPass in your car, ensure that you have the Ford Sync infotainment screen enabled. After that is done, simply download and launch the app to begin the activation process.

You also need to create an account in the app, entering your car’s VIN, which is the vehicle identification number. Find it on Ford’s driver side door frame. The FordPass can now find your vehicle, making it possible for you to proceed to the entertaining part.

What does this app do? It can help you send remote commands to your car. On the app’s home screen you will find a large blue button with the word ‘Start’ on it. If you hold the button down for some time, your car’s engine and the selected systems on.

It can also activate your vehicle’s air conditioning which means that you could either make the car cool or hot. This could depend on the setting you made use of the last time before FordPass switched on the engine.

But be careful, if you step out of the car and don’t come back for a while, the car could lock itself up. But if you have the FordPass activated, you could unlock the car with just your mobile phone!
