Galaxy M01 Core becomes Samsung’s cheapest 2024 phone in India

The new Samsung Galaxy M01 Core is now the cheapest smartphone from Samsung released in the country so far this year. Unlike other regular smartphones we have seen from the company, the Galaxy M01 Core comes with Android 10 Go edition with One UI out of the box. The phone with price tags of ₹5,499 ($73) and ₹6,499 ($87) for its 1GB + 16GB and 2GB + 32GB storage variants respectively.

As suggested by the Android version and the price, the new phone which is also known as the Samsung Galaxy A01 is an entry-level smartphone from Samsung which packs the MediaTek MT6739 quad-core chipset with a maximum clock speed of 1.5GHz. Other features of the processor are 4 x ARM Cortex-A53 cores for CPU and PowerVR GE8100 GPU.

The memory of the phone can be expanded via a microSD card slot. The phone comes with a 5.3-inch HD+ TFT LCD display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. A 5 MP selfie shooter is also positioned above the screen.

On the rear, the phone sports an 8 MP primary shooter and a LED flash. The body of the phone is made of plastic.

The phone also packs other features such as VoLTE, 4G, Bluetooth 4.2, MicroUSB port, 2.4 GHz WiFi, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a 3,000 mAh battery. There are also three color variants of the phone- Black, Red, and Blue.

Samsung will make the Galaxy M01 Core available for purchase on July 29. Interested customers can purchase it from Samsung Opera House, Samsung online store, offline retailers, and leading online portals.
