Google Pixel 4, Pixel 4 XL Launched With Dual Rear Cameras, Radar Chip, 90Hz Display

Google has finally launched the Google Pixel 4 Series, including Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL, during its Made By Google event, which was held in New York. During the launch event, Google revealed that the phone features a radar sensor, dubbed Project Soli during the development, and currently called Motion Sense. This feature allows the smartphone to respond to air gestures; for example, the phone will execute some pre-defined task when you wave your hands at it.

Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL Specifications

Google Pixel 4 series comes with Android 10 out of the box and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Soc along with 6GB of RAM. It features a 90Hz display and is equipped with Google’s Titan M security chip for better data security on-device. With the Google Pixel 4 series, the company promises to give software and security updates for three years.

The Pixel 4 features a 5.7-inch full HD+ OLED display that supports HDR and has a resolution of 444ppi, whereas Pixel 4XL features a 6.3-inch QHD+ display panel with 537ppi screen resolution. For screen protection, both the phone comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

In terms of optics, the Pixel 4 series have a dual-camera setup at the rear side that comprises a 16 MP primary sensor, and a 12.2 secondary ultra-wide-angle sensor with 77-degree field-of-view. The rear camera supports 4K video at 30fps and 1080p at up to 120fps. On the front, you will get an 8 MP camera that supports 1080p video at 30fps.

Google Pixel 4 has a 2,800mAh battery, whereas the Pixel 4 XL comes with a larger 3,700mAh battery. However, both phones come with an 18W fast charging adaptor out of the box and include USB Type-C port. You will also get a USB Type-C to Type-C cable too inside the box.

The Pixel 4 series has a Nano-sim slot, along with support for an eSIM for dual-sim connectivity. Talking about the sensors, the Pixel 4 series features Wi-Fi 2.4GHz, 5GHz 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and 2×2 MIMO support, and Bluetooth 5.0 + LE (along with AptX, AptX HD, LDAC codecs). You will also get NFC, GPS, GLONASS, and Google Cast with the two phones.

Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL Pricing

Google Pixel 4 has been priced at $799, and the Pixel 4 XL costs $899. Both the phone will start shipping from 24 October. However, pre-orders have already begun, and the phones are available through every primary US carrier. The Pixel 4 will be available in three color options – Just Black, Clearly White, and a limited edition Oh So Orange.

There is a sad new for the Indian Pixel phone lovers. Google has confirmed that the company will not launch Pixel 4 in India. Google issued a statement that reads, “Google has a wide range of products that we make available in different regions around the world. We determine availability based on a variety of factors, including local trends and product features. We decided not to make Pixel 4 available in India. We remain committed to our current Pixel phones and look forward to bringing future Pixel devices to India”.
