No one can tell to what extent things can go wrong, especially when a ban from the U.S is involved. After Huawei Mate 20 Pro was released from the list of devices that would receive support for the latest Android Q Beta release, something even worse has happened.
Huawei’s most important flagship, the Huawei P30 Pro and the Huawei’s first foldable and 5G phone, the Huawei Mate X have been removed from the Android official website. Before the Mate X was removed from the website, the device appeared in the “Latest & Greatest” section of the website, a section which contains the most important 5G phones. Other phones included on the list include the Galaxy S10 5G, the LG V50 ThinQ 5G, and the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G.
Before Huawei was banned by the US and was inserted into the entity list, the Huawei P30 Pro could be found in a section called “Cameras that catch the shot.” This was no surprise at all given that the camera on the P30 Pro is definitely the most innovative camera on a phone of the year. However, the list is left with phones like the Google Pixel 3, Motorola Moto G7 and OnePlus 6T. Last but not least, it seems that Huawei has been removed from the Featured Brands list. However, we aren’t sure whether this was before or after the ban.
The list now has brands like Samsung, LG, Motorola, Google, Nokia, and Xiaomi with Huawei being left out. A few days ago, news emerged that Google had revoked the Android license to Huawei. What this means is that Huawei devices will no longer receive Android updates and will not be able to access the Play Store. Shortly after that, Huawei made an announcement that its own OS is in the works and it will support Android apps and will also come with its own app store. However, the status of the OS is still in question. According to the CEO of Huawei, the OS will be available by fall this year or spring next year.
