How Do I Check The Energy Balance On My Meter?
- Simply type in 009 & press enter. Immediately, you will see the current unit on the meter.

What Can I Do If I Don’t Have Supply (Energy Has Been Exhausted On MOJEC Prepaid Meter)
- You will need to power the UIU with a battery and make sure your UIU (User Interface Unit) is plugged into a socket that is directly linked to the meter and then type in the energy token purchased through your UIU.
Ensure your UIU is communicating with the meter:
- Confirm that the UIU box is correctly connected. It has to be plugged directly into a wall socket in the house being served by the meter, and not an extension box when loading the token. Also note that the power source has to be on Ikeja Electric’s supply, and no other source.
Be aware that if all these requirements have been adhered to and you still cannot load your token, then your UIU box or meter might be faulty, or there is no supply from the distribution transformer to the meter. My MOJEC Prepaid Meter Has Been Activated And I Want To LoadRecharge My Meter?
- Make sure your UIU has been successfully paired with the meter. If that has not been done, adhere to these instructions below. To Match/Pair the meter, just:
Mojec Meter = 45xxxxxxxxx
Enter the meter number and enter (meter will display successful.)

- Confirm that you have loaded your meter activation token. (This only applies to meters that need activation token).
To load your Meter Activation token carry out the steps below:
Mojec Meter = 45xxxxxxxxx
- Enter the first twenty digits and press “enter.”
- Meter will display success.
- Then type in the next twenty digits and press “enter.” The meter will display success again.
- After that, proceed to buy energy.
- To load your energy token:
- Enter all twenty digits and press “enter.”
- Meter will display success.
How Will I Know If My MOJEC Prepaid Meter Has Been Activated?
- A text will be sent to your smartphone within 72hours after installation.
- If you receive nothing, you can get yourself logged into the IE portal https://www.ikejaelectric.com/keychange/. Type in your meter number and tap “Submit.” Your activation token will be displayed immediately. For meters that do not need an activation token, an error message will be shown.
