How to Answer Phone calls on Your iPhone Using Bluetooth Speaker

The iPhone has a lot of accessories besides its charger and earphones. There are also other accessories which can be used with an iPhone including wireless headsets and even Bluetooth speakers. If you have purchased a new Bluetooth speaker for your iPhone and it has an internal microphone, then it is intended to make and answer calls too. Yes, earphones are not the only ones that can be used to answer phone calls, even Bluetooth speakers can do that also.Inteck bluetooth speaker with iPhone dock iPhone 7 Plus iPhone SE

If you want to use this feature, you need to set your iPhone’s Call Audio Routing automatically (which is by default) to get it routed automatically to your connected speaker. However, if you select the option not to get it automatically routed, you can set it from the Settings app on your device.

How to Change Call Audio Routing

Follow the steps below to change the Call Audion Routing on your iPhone or iPad.

  1. Turn on your iPhone.
  2. Next, go to the Settings app and then tap on the General option.
  3. Tap on Accessibility.
  4. On the screen that comes up next, scroll through the options listed and tap on the “Call Audio Routing” option.

Now, you can choose either the Bluetooth headset or speaker. If you select the speaker, all calls that are received on your iPhone when the speaker will be automatically routed to the speaker.

Wrapping Up

Calls are one of the most important functions of a smartphone if not the sole important feature. Fortunately, technology is constantly making our lives better. But up until now, there is no way to route calls on the iPhone’s earpiece automatically, so you do not have any option but to settle with the speakerphone. You only need to turn it off every time you do not want to use it.
