The original Apple Pencil will cost $99 and the Apple Pencil (2nd Generation) will go for $129. Both Apple Pencil models cannot be interchanged. You have to buy the legit version for your iPad. You will know the difference because the original one is perfectly round and it comes with a Lightning port in the back, while the 2nd-generation Pencil is magnetic, flat on one side, and charges wirelessly.
The 2 Pencils are the latest models because there are several iPads presently in use which can function with the two accessories.

The original Apple Pencil is gloss white, totally round, and comes with a silver ring close to the rear. At the back of the ring is a cap that can be removed that allows you to charge the pencil. You will have to part with $99 for Apple.
The Apple Pencil (2nd Generation) comes with a less shiny matte white finish, and is flat on one side, therefore, rolling is not so smooth. There is no silver band in the back, and rather than a Lightning port, it charges wirelessly when attachment happens with the iPad. This Pencil is magnetic, so it remains with the iPad for storage and charging. You will need to part with $129 to get it from Apple.
Apple allows you to engrave a brief text message (like your name, initials, or phone number) into an Apple Pencil (2nd Generation). This can be done online and it will cost you nothing. Engraving cannot happen on the original Apple Pencil.
