How to fix iPhone / iPad error constantly powering down

What should I do if my iOS device is constantly powered off? Before you have to intervene on internal hardware to check, try the basic troubleshooting steps according to the article below.

Required restart of the device

The required restart operation is usually the one that helps fix iOS devices in the event of errors such as continuous power off, unable to charge, application errors. If your device keeps turning on and off, it will quickly drain the battery, and Wi-Fi and mobile data networks must constantly reconnect, affecting the device.

To force restart, do the following:

For iPhone 8 and above models:

Quickly press and release the volume up key, repeat the same with the volume down key, and then quickly press and hold the Side key (power) until the Apple logo appears.

For iPhone 7 and earlier models:

  • For iPhone 7 / iPhone 7 Plus series, press and hold the two power keys at the same time and turn down the volume until you see the Apple logo.
  • For iPhone 6s, iPad and other models with the physical Home button, hold down the power and Home buttons at the same time until the Apple logo appears.

After rebooting, check to see if the device is still having power failure continuously, otherwise please proceed to the next step.

Plug in and charge the device

Sometimes the cause of the continuous power off is due to a device running out of battery or having a battery problem. Try plugging the charger in until it’s full and check if the power is still turned off.

Restore the device

This solution helps you to completely clean up the device as new, with potential errors deep inside the system files are corrected thanks to the newly installed operating system. Restoring a device is much more likely than a user trying to fix an old operating system that’s having problems.

Contact support from the manufacturer

The last solution when trying all of the above methods is still not good, you need to contact Apple customer service for support if the device is in the warranty period. Or take the device to professional repair services to be checked to find the cause of the error.
