How to Remap Bixby key on Galaxy S10 to Perform Whatever Task

Now let’s discuss how you can make use of that annoying Bixby button to do anything you want on your Samsung Galaxy S10 device. Have you been searching for how to remap Bixby key on Galaxy S10, S10 plus and Galaxy S10E? We have you covered right here.

Samsung has finally showcased its Galaxy S10 flagships and the Bixby key is not going anywhere. Samsung’s reply to Google Assistant and Apple’s Siri made its first appearance on the Galaxy S8 with diverse reviews and most people were not overwhelmed about it. Those using the Galaxy S8 by chance pressed the button from time to time and it keeps on bringing up Bixby even when you don’t need it.

Discovered by TheVerge, the Company, Samsung has now included settings on the new Galaxy S10 series that gives you the feature to modify the Bixby button to open whatever application you want. Prior to this, those using the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy Note 9 had to download third-party applications to remap the button. We will give you a detailed explanation on how you can remap Bixby key on Galaxy S10 below.

How to Remap Bixby key on Galaxy S10 to Open any Application

  • Click and launch the Bixby button settings
  • Two options will be displayed to you- Double press to open Bixby or Single press to open Bixby.
  • If you select the “Single press to open Bixby” option, you will have the ability to set the Double press as seen below to launch any other application you want.
  • If you select the “Double press to open Bixby” option, you will have the ability to set the Single press to launch any other application you want.

It’s as easy as that. Let’s say your favorite application is Instagram and you want the Bixby button to open it on Single press, if you by mistake pressed the key twice in fast succession it displays Bixby. No matter what, by default, clicking down the Bixby button still opens Bixby voice.

The great thing about this is that you can actually remap Bixby key on Galaxy S10 to launch Google assistant by default following the above settings.

As we all know that Samsung is presently in the process of its One UI roadmap and Android Pie update and the Galaxy Note 9 and S9 has been updated successfully. The Galaxy Note 8 and the Galaxy S8 has just begun to receive updates. Unhappily, the update does not have the remapping settings yet on your Galaxy Note 9 and S9. But hopefully, Samsung will actually do something soon.
