How To Sell On Letgo

Is your garage the home of several stuff you have never used? Are your babies now grownups, leaving you with lots of baby stuff that are no longer useful lying in your hall closet? Did you decide to diet and now you have many clothes that no longer fit and will most likely never be your size again?

Why not use these situations to your advantage? Letgo is a famous app for local buying and selling. To get involved, just snap a picture of your kid’s old stuff that you no longer need or a picture of a now oversized jeans and wait for the calls to start rolling in.

But what if days passed, and you are still waiting. No calls yet? “Where did i go wrong?” is surely the question you ask yourself at this stage, Lets show you where.

Someone surely wants what you have to sell but you are not going about making that sale happen the right way. Realizing what your old wear or equipment is worth and being good marketer are not really skills that we stumble upon. Like every other skill, you will have to gather some experience.

If you are finding it difficult to sell your stuff on Letgo, check out these steps to correct that below.

1. Make Your Item Attractive

This app presents itself as just needing you take a rapid snapshot and immediately someone comes to pay for it but that is not really the case. Do not just rely on a fast picture, focus on taking a good, beautiful photo. Ensure it can be easily seen with amazing lighting and a decent background. Take the photos from several angles and share every single one of them. Buyers will not fancy items that looks hidden even if what really happened is you being a terrible photographer. They’ll conclude that it is faulty or you are trying to dupe them. It is up to you to prove that you have nothing to hide.

2. Apt Description

Letgo allows you to put in several description for your stuff. Use it well. Let potential buyers know about the size, color, fabric, or any other relevant information. The picture does not always speak for itself. Sometimes you have to do the speaking. More of that and the more trust these customers have in you and the stuff you plan to sell.

3. Decide On The Right Price

Price your item the right way. If you haven’t paid something recently to renew the stuff you plan to sell, then you do not expect to receive the exact amount you paid when you first bought it newly. And if you also price your item far below what it should normally worth, potential customers will be suspicious. They can conclude you are not telling the whole truth about the item’s condition. Some might even assume it was stolen. No one will have faith in a $20 iPad. Check out Ebay and Amazon to have an idea of the price range you can use.

4. Use The Bump Feature

It lets you enhance your item for a $1.99 i.e 717.40 naira fee, which will take your item up to the top of the listing. This feature will not be available automatically. Your stuff must’ve been on the Letgo platform for a while before the option will be ready for your use. Easy with the bumping feature though, if your item did not attract buyers when you made it available on Letgo, it is likely that the bump feature will not change that item’s fate.

But do not conclude that it will not will not result in any sale, some item eventually get sold if they are good condition with an appropriate price.

One terrible side of Letgo remains the rip offs. Just because a “buyer” appears for your item does not mean they plan to give you money for it. They can actually be there to rip you off. Beware of scammers.
