HP 255 G4 is fitted with a HD LED-backlit display measuring 15.6 inches diagonally. The LED-backlit display sports an anti-glare quality and has a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. The squared-tiled design of the keyboard should make typing a joy. HP 255 G4’s keyboard features a quality track pad with rough surface.

Just as we expect a laptop with a low price tag, HP 255 G4 features a rugged-looking plastic body. The chassis will not win world records for look, but appears sturdy. Black matte finish dons the outer shell while gun metal finish is used for the keyboard area and the palm rest. The HP 255 G4 features an island-style keyboard with a numeric keypad for easy calculations and a touchpad boasting multi-touch gestures support. The Touchpad with multi-touch gestures enabled, taps enabled as default, default on for 2-finger scroll and pinch.

HP 255 G4 is both lighter and thinner than its predecessors, the 255 G3 and 255 G2, at 2.1 kilograms with a thickness of 24.3 mm respectively.

HP 255 G4 Notebook PC runs on Windows 8.1, Windows 8.1 Pro and Windows 7 Pro optional (upgradeable to Windows 10) and you also have option of choosing a unit with FreeDOS 2.0. No matter the model you pick you will be able to load or upgrade to Windows 10.

HP 255 G4 laptop is powered AMD Beema, AMD Carrizo-L or Intel Celeron N3050 (Braswell) processor. The chip is capable of delivering speed levels between 1.4GHz – 2.5GHz with Intel Turbo Boost technology.

HP 255 G4 offers one memory slot that can take up to 8GB of RAM, but depending on configuration will come with an on-board RAM of between 2GB and 8GB capacity. You also get generous storage space of 500 GB, 750 GB or 1 TB with a 5400rpm or 7200rpm SATA hard drive. That is enough space to hold thousands of songs, videos and other files.

HP 255 G4 comes with a decent 4-cell, 41 WHr or 3-cell, 31 WHr Li-ion Battery that is capable of handling just a little over six hours of use when it is fully charged.

Networking and connectivity options available on the HP 255 G4 include USB ports (both 2.0 & 3.0), Bluetooth 4.0, single-band and single-stream 802.11 b/g/n, thanks to Wi-Fi CERTIFIED WLAN that helps keeps you connected.It also comes with HDMI, VGA, and 10/100 Mbps Ethernet.
