Design
A beauty to behold, the P20 Pro is simply a masterpiece. Not everyday we get to see a smartphone with three rear cameras right? The tri shooters exudes at the rear in a vertical format stylishly. The first two cameras are joined together with the same foundation, while the last one underneath is quite a loner.
Underneath the shooters lies the dual tone LED flash, while the Huawei logo follows in that direction at the bottom corner. The device is IP67 certified offering dust and water resistant up to 30 minutes. Measuring 7.8mm in thickness and weight more than its little brother at 180g. Not much color options here, just Blue, Black and Violet colors.
Display
Looks exactly like the P20 smartphone from the front but sports an OLED capacitive touchscreen. It’s high time we accept these bezel-less beauties with the trending top-notch trend. The bottom bezel came out to play as well and houses the physical button which doubles as the fingerprint scanner.
The 6.1-inch FHD+ OLED capacitive touchscreen is literally out of this world in terms of details. Boasting of a resolution of 2240 x 1080 pixels and 408 pixel per inch density, bringing out your games and movies pretty nicely. The screen also dishes out a unique 18.5:9 aspect ratio, full view display, LED Notifications, LTPS and stretches up to 85% screen to body ratio. While a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protects it all.
Hardware and Software
Under the hood is the powerful Huawei HiSilicon KIRIN 970 chip with Octa-core processor and 64-bit CPU architecture. The 8-cores of processor runs at a speed of just 2.4GHz with an incredible 10nm process technology. Handle graphics is the ARM Mali G72 MP12 graphics processor, boasting of 12-cores and clocks at 767MHz.
For multitasking, 6GB of RAM space is available with a memory speed of 1.833GHz. Store up files and apps in the massive 128GB storage space available and upgradeable up to 256GB using a memory card. The P20 Pro smartphone runs smoothly on Android 8.1 Oreo with EMUI 8.0 skin.
Camera
Now to the highlight of the decade, the Huawei P20 Pro is World’s first smartphone with three rear cameras. The tri 40MP + 20MP + 8MP shooters has f/1.6, f/2.4 and f/1.8 aperture respectively, capturing 5K resolution images with ease. The three Leica-powered shooters has Leica Optics, 2X Lossless Zoom, 1.0um Pixel Size, Phase Detection, Laser Autofocus, Contrast Autofocus, Depth Autofocus, Summilux-H lens, 6P Lens and other amazing features.
The cameras come with a dual tone LED flash that’s always ready for night shoot, capturing photographs with 5164 x 3873 pixels in dimension. The 24MP selfie camera has f/2.0 aperture, autofocus and face recognition technology. Record FHD videos of 2160, 1080 and 720 pixels at 60, 120 and 960 frames per second respectively.
Battery
Powering the Huawei P20 Pro is a 4000mAh non-removable Li-Po battery with fast charging and wireless charging technology. With the fast charging feature, it shouldn’t take more than 1.6 hours to fully charge up the battery from 0% to 100%.
