The IFA, one of the oldest and largest international tech and industrial events in the world is an opportunity for tech companies to showcase their products and innovations. IFA 2018 was held in Berlin from August 31 to September 5.

This year’s event attracted more 20,000 representatives, journalists, and experts gathered together from all over the world. Some of the notable top brands which featured their products were Amazon, Samsung, Sony, LG, Toshiba, Philips, Panasonic, and more.

All these showcased their newest and upcoming products and innovations during the event. However, we are concerned about the notable smartphones released during the event. We have outlined some of the major smartphone releases below.

Motorola’s New Smartphones

Motorola flexed its muscles with two new Android One smartphones. They are the Motorola One and Motorola One Power smartphones. Both devices sport similar designs with a notch. Motorola One comes in 5.9-inch full HD+ display with 19:9 aspect ratio.

It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC paired with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, which can be expanded through a microSD card.

Motorola One Power is larger a bit. It comes with 6.2-inch IPS LCD display with 19:9 aspect ratio and HD+ resolution. This device comes with Snapdragon 636 chipset and has two storage variants of 3GB + 32GB and 4GB + 64GB.

Sony Smartphones

Sony came out with Xperia XZ3, and it comes with a curved display, having the look of the most exciting release from company ye,t in many years now. This device sports a 6-inch OLED with a resolution of 2960 x 1440 pixels, while the Xperia XZ3 is reported to use high-resolution TV technology for this device.

This Sony device comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. According to reports, this device will come with the latest Android P out of the box.

Huawei / Honor New Smartphones

Honor is a sub-brand of Huawei and the company at that event launched Honor Play smartphone. The company claimed it will be available in the European market. Honor Play is a mid-range 6.3-inch gaming smartphone and has already been launched in China and India markets.

This device has very impressive features such as the Kirin 970 chipset, paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal memory. There’s also Turbo GPU for better graphics

Also, Huawei launched the latest Huawei Mate 20 Lite, which is a mid-range smartphone launched during the IFA 2018. According to the company, this latest device is powered by Kirin 980. The processor will also be featured in other Huawei smartphones.

HTC Smartphone

HTC brought out the HTC U12 Life. This smartphone is postulated to be the game changer on the smartphone market for the company in modern times. For years, the company has been struggling to launch a budget-friendly smartphone. Maybe this will be a success story for HTC.

BlackBerry Smartphone

BlackBerry released a variant of the Key 2 device. This is one of the most notable smartphone releases at the IFA 2018 event. It is called Key 2 LE. This device is a less expensive smartphone but it is colorful. It comes in two different variants of 32GB / 64GB internal storage.

The other notable aspect of the Key 2 LE is the beautiful colors they come in. The color options are slate, champagne, and atomic.
