Infinix Note 5 VS Tecno Camon X – 2018 flagship from Infinix and Tecno. The talked about Infinix Note 5 has finally been unveiled by Infinix during an event in Dubai, UAE. The Note series is the best series from the OEM company. It’s probably my best series if am to choose. The Infinix Note 5 comes with a lot of expectations on its shoulder. Its predecessor, the Infinix Note 4 didn’t do so well in the market especially against the Infinix Note 3. So we’re hoping the new Note 5 comes out better than the Note 4 and Note 3.
In this article, the Infinix Note 5 will be compared to the Camon X from Tecno. Both Infinix and Tecno are under the same parent company, Transsion Holdings. The Camon series is among the best series Tecno has in the archives. So stay with me while I compare the new Infinix Note 5 with the Tecno Camon X.
Infinix Note 5 VS Tecno Camon X – The Design
The Infinix Note 5 features a front glass with glossy polycarbonate plastic unibody. The glossy back reflects light beautifully. Whereas the Tecno Camon X comes with a polycarbonate plastic unibody that isn’t glossy or shiny. Based on design, I feel the Infinix Note 5 takes the win for me here. Both the Infinix Note 5 and Tecno Camon X features a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. Below the fingerprint sensor is their brand name. Aside from the fingerprint sensor, they both support facial identification technology.
There’s no dual rear camera for the Infinix Note 5 unlike the Infinix Hot 6 and Hot 6 Pro. The Infinix Note 5 joins the Tecno Camon X in featuring a single rear camera with LED flash aligned in a horizontal direction at the top left corner. The Infinix Note 5 is thicker and heavier than the Tecno Camon X, which could be due to its huge battery capacity.
The Infinix Note 5 weighs 173 grams and measures 8.4 mm in thickness while the Tecno Camon X weighs 150 grams with 7.8 mm thick. The Tecno Camon X is available in City Blue, Midnight Black, and Champagne Gold body colors. Whereas the Infinix Note 5 is available in Black, Blue and Grey body colors. The Black color of the Infinix Note 5 is the best when it comes to reflecting light.
Infinix Note 5 VS Tecno Camon X – The Display
The display of both the Tecno Camon X and the Infinix Note 5 features a 6.0-inch HD+ IPS LCD panel with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The Infinix Note 5 takes a win in terms of screen resolution with its 1080 x 2160 pixels and 402 pixels per inch density. While the Tecno Camon X’s display sports a 720 x 1440 pixels resolution with 275 pixels per inch density. The screen of the Infinix Note 5 stretches up to 79% screen-to-body ratio while that of the Tecno Camon X goes up to 81% screen-to-body ratio.
Infinix Note 5 VS Tecno Camon X – The Camera
The Camon series are built specifically for taking good and quality pictures. So I would expect the Tecno Camon X to triumph here. The Infinix Note 5 sports a 12MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and a 16MP front-facing camera. Whereas, the Tecno Camon X sports a 16MP rear camera with a 20MP front-facing camera. Both the cameras of the Tecno Camon X and Infinix Note 5 are AI driven, which means you get to used different types of AI-features to beautify your pictures.

Infinix Note 5 VS Tecno Camon X – Hardware and Software
Powering both the Tecno Camon X and the Infinix Note 5 is the MediaTek Helio P23 chipset with 3GB memory, an 8-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz and Mali-G71 MP2 graphics processing unit. The Tecno Camon X comes with a 16GB internal storage while on the Infinix Note 5 is a 32GB internal storage.
Infinix went the extra mile here as they ditched their XOS user interface for the Note 5. The Infinix Note 5 runs on pure stock Android 8.1 Oreo. It became Infinix first smartphone to support Android One program initiative. Whereas the Tecno Camon X runs on HiOS user interface, which is overlaid on Android 8.1 Oreo.
Infinix Note 5 VS Tecno Camon X – The Battery
The Infinix Note 5 features a non-removable Li-Po 4500 mAh battery with fast battery charging support. While the Tecno Camon X features a non-removable Li-lon 3750 mAh battery with fast battery charging support.
Infinix Note 5 VS Tecno Camon X – The Price
The Tecno Camon X is being sold for about $166 (N58,000) while the Infinix Note 5 goes for about $186 (N65,100). The extra cash on the Infinix Note 5 gives you a better display, Android one experience, bigger battery capacity and internal storage. While the Tecno Camon X comes with better camera quality. Both smartphones are good at their respective prices but I feel the Infinix Note 5 offers better quality-price ratio.
