Personally, when the name LG is mentioned, mid-range (or average) doesn’t easily come to mind. Actually, it doesn’t come to mind at all. I’m so used to the high-end flagship smartphones from the brand.
The LG company ended the year 2017 with quite a number of premium flagships. But now, it looks like the OEM would be starting off 2018 from a totally different dimension. To the LG Aristo 2…
The device, as mentioned earlier, is a mid-range smartphone and a successor to the LG Aristo that was released in the first quarter of 2017. The LG Aristo 2 will look very much like its older sibling, the Aristo in terms of appearance and other features.
The device isn’t officially released for sale yet, but rumours and leaks surrounding its impending launch have been interesting and have done well in pointing out clearly, what the LG Aristo 2 would most likely come with.
The above specs sheet shows specifications supposedly belonging to the upcoming LG Aristo 2. The device will feature a 5.0 inch HD In-Cell display, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. The Aristo 2 has bigger RAM than the Aristo which had 1.5GB but retains the same built-in storage capacity.
As regards hardware and software components, LG really didn’t alter much. The LG Aristo 2 uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC (a mid-range focused chip) which has 4 Cortex-A53 cores that run at a clock frequency of 1.4GHz. The Adreno 308 GPU also remained intact. Wasn’t upgraded, and that’s totally disappointing.
The Aristo 2 will be coming out of the box with an updated Android Nougat OS version (v7.1.2), and a removable 2,410mAh battery. Also, the device will be available only in Black colour and will have one SIM card slot.
The above specs are average but surprisingly, the LG Aristo 2 will launch with the Face Recognition for Unlock feature. I guess we are getting close to the era where almost all devices released will have the Face Recognition feature – more like how majority of devices now have the fingerprint sensor.
There is no point-specific information as to the exact release date of the LG Aristo 2 but it is expected that the device will launch in a package box as seen above.
